Multimedia... for multiple senses

In life—as in web site design, it's not enough to have Flash, you need substance.

I shall always mourn the loss of an early client and later, best friend, Ray Welch, Ray was a Boston advertising legend, known for his radio & television voiceover work with the likes of PBS, NESN ads for his beloved Red Sox , the Rhode Island State Lotto and many, many more. We do encourage our clients to weigh their priorities when using Flash and other multimedia technology. If search engine ranking is important to you, our advice is to wrap 'pieces' of Flash animation within optimized HTML web pages. As present, Google is reportedly the only search engine able to index most content embedded in Flash animations. That said, however, indications are that they do not follow the links embedded within a Flash animation. Therefore a sitemap or HTML links can be imperative, depending upon the layout of your site.

Be wary of design firms willing to take your hard-earned investment dollars for developing a Flash-only website or especially some Flash "Intro", incapable of generating sales leads. Otherwise, you may be forced to spend considerable sums with search engines & directories for paid advertising or pay-per-click (PPC) marketing campaigns afterward.
